Drawing A Day #48: Monkey business

August 26th, 2010

Today’s D.A.D. is Monkey business … I’m not too sure about the revenue model for these guys but I probably would be doing the same thing if I were selling mint chocolate chip ice cream.

Drawing A Day #47: Water buffalo

August 25th, 2010

I’d never drawn a water buffalo in my life, but then got two requests this summer to do so. The first was for my friend’s kiddo’s nursery; and then came this request for a D.A.D. from Bill H.

I was inspired by the artwork I found when looking up pictures of water buffalo online, so I wanted to try this more traditional painting style — even though watercolour has always been such a challenging medium for me. The fish in the picture are obviously enhancing the bath time experience, and making the “water” in Water buffalo into a verb:

As an aside, while working on today’s D.A.D., I had this throwback running through my head:

Thank you Bill, and thank you Neneh Cherry!

Drawing A Day #46: Pull up your socks

August 24th, 2010

I have this “to do” list that seems to just grow and grow … I manage to check some items off but not as many as I keep adding on.  This is probably just the way it is with many of us but I know part of it for me is being the procrastinator that I can be and avoiding certain tasks.

So today’s D.A.D. came out of all this rambling in my head … here’s Pull up your socks:

Pull Up Your Socks

Sometimes I have to tell myself to FOCUS, bite the bullet and just GET IT DONE.

Here’s hoping that you’re ploughing through your “to do” list more successfully than I am with mine!
