Feature Friday #26: ‘Sufi dancer 3′ — giclée print of an original painting by Sorya Gopalan

January 21st, 2011

Today’s donation comes from my talented and generous friend, Sorya, who’s always had a penchant for painting but has taken it to the next level in the last few years. Her work is rich, vibrant, full of movement, and I often feel grateful to be let into another facet of her psyche when I look at it. Sorya is donating a 10″ x 10″ giclée reproduction of one of her original paintings, Sufi dancer 3:

You can see more of Sorya’s work at her website.

And I happened to feature her on my other blog in 2009 if you’d like to find out more about her work, her background, and her happiest childhood memories…

Thank you Sorya!

Thanks also to happyhoundcreative for including our I heart ewe print in her LOVE treasury:

Have a terrific weekend, everyone!

Drawing A Day #105: I heart ewe

January 19th, 2011

Sheesh, this baby is making me mooshy… and with Valentine’s right around the corner, I thought I’d do up another seasonally appropriate D.A.D., so here is today’s drawing, called I heart ewe:

Who doesn’t love a heart when it’s wrapped up in (non-itchy) wooly goodness, right?
