Feature Friday #39: ‘Sunflowers’ — giclée print of original painting by Sheila Donohue

** Update: Sheila’s print has been purchased and is no longer available.
The buyer contacted us
directly, so the listing has been removed from our etsy shop.

Today’s Feature Friday donation comes from fellow Toronto artist Sheila Donohue. This self-proclaimed “21st-Century Grandma Moses” has participated in both group shows at a Toronto public gallery and juried shows at the Toronto Arts & Letters Club, among other venues.

Like me, Sheila is a sunflower lover so it’s not surprising that her donation is a giclée print of an acrylic painting on canvas of these pretties that she created not too long ago:

Sunflowers by Sheila Donohue

When she’s not busy feeding her creative spirit, Sheila is pursuing a double-minor degree in Fine Art History and English History at the University of Toronto (you go girl!) and enjoys spending time with her two beautiful grandchildren when she visits the West Coast. She’s also an avid traveller and will find herself painting en plein air at Gros Morne National Park in Newfoundland this June (lucky! – sounds like the perfect place to get inspired).

To keep up with Sheila, check out her website, her blog and if you dare, you can also follow her on twitter.

Thank you Sheila for brightening our day with your happy print and generous donation.

Happy weekend everyone!
