Feature Friday #45: Soft & warm hand-knit scarf by Dylana Designs

June 24th, 2011

Today’s Feature Friday donation comes from the very dynamic Dylana, another member of the etsy group, T.E.S.T. Being a cancer survivor herself, Dylana was pretty quick to respond to my request for donations for The D.A.D. Project; her donation comes in the form of a beautifully hand-knit scarf:

Born in Vancouver, B.C. and raised in Central America, Dylana taught herself how to knit when she returned to Canada in 1984 and hasn’t stopped since. She loves the challenge of creating her own designs and making all of her own patterns. Aside from knitting and crocheting, she also delves into other crafts such as crocheting, cross-stitching, macramé, painting (stencilling) and jewellery making, and shares her passion for knitting and crocheting by teaching others whenever she gets the chance. Check out other cool creations by Dylana:

- in her Etsy stores: Dylana Designs (www.etsy.com/shop/dylanadesigns) and The Joy of Knitting (www.etsy.com/shop/thejoyofknitting)
- at her website: http://www.thejoyofknitting.com/
- on her blog: http://ladydylanabelize.blogspot.com

On certain items that she sells, Dylana donates 50% of the proceeds to the Princess Margaret Foundation or The Canadian Cancer Society in Toronto to help in the fight against cancer (way to go girl!).

In 2011, Dylana will be designing and making her own style of dresses with the help of her daughter … she plans to take a few courses in fashion design to help with this new venture. Best of luck with this – I’m sure you will fly!

Dylana: thank you for your generosity! You have a great spirit and I look forward to grabbing a coffee with you soon.
