Feature Friday #3: Lost in the City by Meredith Luce

June 25th, 2010

A big thanks to Meredith Luce, this week’s Feature Friday artist, for donating a print of a digital painting she did just for our project. In Meredith’s words: “Lost in the City was inspired by the concept of people becoming a part of the city they live in… this character has become elongated like the buildings in the city’s skyline. This figure, at this moment, is discovering the darker side of his city as well as a darker side of himself. If people add character to their city and their city adds character to them, a cycle begins that can turn light into greater light, or dark into greater darkness.”

Meredith is a graphic designer and illustrator who was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. Meredith finds her inspiration in the environment around her, often interpreting abstract ideas with exaggerated and whimsical forms. Her work often consists of poster designs and album artwork for local musicians, as well as logo designs for local businesses.

Meredith also donated the prize package for our first giveaway — click here to enter!

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend and see you next week.
