Drawing A Day #95: Count your lucky stars

January 3rd, 2011

If you’re anything like me, you spent a lot of the holidays wearing buffet pants, hanging out with family, and hopefully getting a little more sleep than usual. I also find this time of year always causes me to take a step back, think about the bigger picture… and appreciate all the stuff — small and big — that too often gets taken for granted. And so, I’m ringing in the new year with Count your lucky stars:

I hope you all had a good holiday — happy 2011 :)

Drawing A Day #7: When owls celebrate

June 16th, 2010

Recent emails between Serena and me have been riddled with many a “Whee!” and “Yahoo!” — which helped inspire today’s D.A.D., When owls celebrate:

And there are a few mention-worthy reasons to celebrate:

  1. Serena’s coming home for an impromptu visit to celebrate Father’s Day with us! (Our parents and I all live in Ottawa, so it makes it easier for me to accompany them to appointments. Serena’s a few hours away in Toronto, so she makes the trek between cities as often as she can; she does a terrific job of being a support and cheerleader, even from a different area code.)
  2. I was chatting with my Dad last night about the project and he had the idea of a feature called “Dining with Dad”. He’s a serious foodie and amazing cook, so look out for some delicious recipes in upcoming posts! I think the first one is going to be about his famous almond cookies — get your tastebuds ready!
  3. A week and a half into our project… and we have: sold 8 items (7 prints + John’s donation last week), received $250 in donations on our CCS page, 135 facebook fans, been approached by a couple of blogs for features… not to mention all the other great feedback we’ve gotten from tweets, comments and emails. THANK YOU!!!

.

Can I get a “Whoot! Whoot!”??
