Drawing A Day #51: Woodland swingers

September 1st, 2010

I used to love a cartoon called ‘Fables of the Green Forest’ when I was a kid — heard of it? (And if so, did you find Sammy Bluejay as annoying as I did???)  The show popped into my head the other day… and I put a little cheeky twist on it for today’s D.A.D. — Woodland swingers:

And with that, I’ll leave you with the theme to the show that inspired me:

Also, a big thanks to NancyWallisDesign (who makes some gorgeous jewelry you might want to check out!) for including our Awkward walrus in her treasury:

Drawing A Day #33: Go out on a limb

August 2nd, 2010

I tried a different style than usual here — a little more painterly, and even slightly folksy. So I did illustratively Go out on a limb, which, coincidentally, is what today’s D.A.D. is called:

Pretty self-explanatory, I think. But I mean it, not just in terms of making opportunities to meet and connect with people, but also keeping the mind open to work through the complexities of getting along in a relationship.

Have a terrific start to your week!
