Drawing A Day #65: Rain rain

September 27th, 2010

It’s pouring in Ottawa right now. In fact, John and I heard two separate forecasts that used the word “juicy” to describe the weather system passing through our area. Juicy???

Today’s D.A.D. is called Rain rain:

I was going to include “go away” in the title, but I actually kinda like this weather sometimes, so I left it as is.

Stay dry!

Drawing A Day #22: Dragon fly

July 13th, 2010

When we received a suggestion to do a dragon for one of our drawings (thanks Julie!), I volunteered to take it on since dragons are one of my favourite things to draw. So here’s today’s D.A.D., Dragon fly:

Dragon Fly
Real dragonflies actually make me nervous — chalk it up to a bad childhood experience when a large one landed on me and I ended up pinning it to my shoulder with the side of my head in a panic. I can still hear/feel the buzzing and flapping of its wings as it tried to get away (I did finally just lift my head and it took off). So now when there’s one flying a little too close for comfort, I always keep an eye on it. Yes, call me weird.
