Drawing A Day #140: Great balls of fire

March 24th, 2011

For today’s D.A.D., all I can say is goodness, gracious … Great balls of fire:

Great Balls of Fire

Looks like this will be my last D.A.D. drawing for the next couple of weeks since I’m heading out of town for work. Big thanks to Em for holding down the fort while I’m away – I’ll definitely be checking in to see what fun creations Em posts on her days!

Take care everyone,

Drawing A Day #22: Dragon fly

July 13th, 2010

When we received a suggestion to do a dragon for one of our drawings (thanks Julie!), I volunteered to take it on since dragons are one of my favourite things to draw. So here’s today’s D.A.D., Dragon fly:

Dragon Fly
Real dragonflies actually make me nervous — chalk it up to a bad childhood experience when a large one landed on me and I ended up pinning it to my shoulder with the side of my head in a panic. I can still hear/feel the buzzing and flapping of its wings as it tried to get away (I did finally just lift my head and it took off). So now when there’s one flying a little too close for comfort, I always keep an eye on it. Yes, call me weird.
