Drawing A Day #175: Hanging by a thread

June 28th, 2011

Today’s D.A.D. puts a positive spin on the phrase Hanging by a thread — I like to think of Mr. Elephant on his way to somewhere fun and relaxing …

Hope the week’s being kind to you all so far …

Drawing A Day #77: Go fly a kite

November 17th, 2010

I recently saw The Wizard of Oz on tv the other night… and I’d forgotten how mesmerizing it is. That early tornado scene always creeped me out as a kid, although I do love doodling things flying through the air. This image popped into my brain somewhere during that process — even though I know there are no elephants in Kansas! — and it’s called Go fly a kite:

This must be one featherweighted pachiderm, since the last time I drew him, he was also airborne… Hopefully, there’ll be some munchkins or nice flying monkeys who’ll help this guy get back to solid ground :)

And cheers to Glen Gower for including us in the “Skyscraper Art on OttawaStart” project where we, along with 29 other local artists, are featured in rotation in the skycraper ad space on their main site.  We’re pretty thrilled to be part of this virtual art gallery so here’s a big thanks to Glen and OttawaStart!
