August 30th, 2011

How about making like a Treehugger and showing nature some love today?

Speaking of love, a big thank you to PaintBrushedBoutique for including our Book club in her etsy treasury named Knowledge is Power:

Feature Friday #10: Embrace by Laura Moncion

August 13th, 2010
** Update: Laura’s drawing has been purchased (in one hour flat!) via Etsy
and is no longer available
! **

We’re keeping it in the family this week, with a donation from our cousin’s niece-in-law (and all-around great gal) Laura Moncion. Her lovely, expressive drawing is called Embrace:

Laura is a history student whose notes are always covered with bizarre little doodles. When there is no more paper to write on, she sketches on her skin, walls, clothing, and any available surface, taking very literally Henry David Thoreau’s old saying, “The world is but canvas to our imaginations.” Her weapon of choice is the permanent marker. This drawing is donated in memory of her mother, Cheryl Lloyd, who always encouraged Laura’s doodling, and died of breast cancer in 2006.

Thank you for being a part of our project and for sharing your creative side with us, Laura; your Mum would be so proud of you.

And we seem to be on a treasury roll lately… Nuts for you was just included in this collection called “Peace Out!”, curated by JunkDrawerToo:

Thanks for including us! And have a terrific weekend, everyone :)
