Feature Friday #12: Angel wing necklace by Melonie Higashi
Today’s donation comes from dear friend and über-talented jewelry-maker, Melonie Higashi. Mel has been incredibly supportive of The D.A.D. Project from the get-go, and told me that she chose to contribute an Angel wing necklace “because I think you and Serena are both angels for coming up with this wonderful project.” How sweet is that?
Keeping company with the sterling silver angel wing are a Peruvian opal, a wire wrapped London blue topaz briolette, and a freshwater pearl. The angel wing measures 1-inch (or 2.5 cm) long. The chain measures 18″ (or 45.7 cm) long.
Love, protect, and inspire….
- Wings are generally symbols of protection.
- Blue Topaz and the Peruvian Opal are said to promote artistic inspiration/creativity.
- Freshwater pearls are said to enable someone to accept love.

If you’d like to know a little more about Mel, her gorgeous work and her quirky sense of humour, take a look at the feature I did on her last year.
Thanks Mel! I’ll share my wakame salad sushi rolls with you ANYtime ;)
We love hearing your feedback!
