This is going to be the last week of D.A.D.s we do before we take a winter break for the holidays. How did it become mid-December already??
I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that winter has arrived, having had to pull out the longjohns and scrape off the car a couple of times… Rather than pout about it, I thought I’d try and come up with a pleasant (albeit chilly) scene, and what better way to do it than with the help of a barn owl? Here is Whiter shade of pale:
Bundle up, (unless you live somewhere warm, in which case I’m sending you a big envious raspberry ;P ) and have a terrific week!

Winter lasts for almost half the year here in Ottawa, which means that I spend a lot of time grumbling in longjohns. When I see little dogs walking outside in this weather, I wonder how they stand it… if I had a small pup, I’d be tempted to share my winter wear with it. Which brings me to today’s D.A.D., Warm fuzzy:
Brrr. Hot cocoa, anyone??

I wanted to tackle flowers for today’s D.A.D., and I can’t tell you how many times I started and restarted; painting these suckers just doesn’t come naturally to me… I ended up ditching all the happy bright primary palettes, and turned to something cool and monochromatic instead. As I worked on Pale blooms, I wanted to capture the theme of how something that looks so delicate can weather the toughest of situations:
I might’ve been influenced by the turn in the temperature lately — brrr!
And more treasury love… this time, from fellow Canuck paisleybaby (whose wetbags rock, by the way!!! I know, I’ve bought a couple :) Our Flights of fancy made it into her collection, which features some of her twitter followers:
Have a great week!
